I'm an Olympic
bronze medal winning Great Britain and England hockey player. I've been lucky
enough to have made countless lifelong memories, been apart of some great teams
and won many medals on the world stage over the past fifteen years. My
career however, has been marred throughout by injuries and I currently find
myself having my 5th operation, the 2nd on my back in
the space of a year.
From my
experience of rehab I know what awaits me over the coming months. What makes
the timing of this surgery worse is that on the 1st of June, England
will play USA in their opening World Cup 2014 match. This is exactly
thirteen weeks post surgery. The thought of potentially missing out on
this tournament, my last chance to achieve my dream of becoming world champion,
has heightened my emotions. So, I have therefore decided to try to blog about
my journey back to fitness. I've been told it can help!
I also hope that in sharing what I’m going through with an honest account of my thoughts, feelings and emotions, it may help someone else undergoing surgery and/or rehab.

Join me on my
journey through the highs and lows of rehab, on my way 'back to my best'.
